Nine Drawer Keeper's Coffer

This late 19th-century storage chest balances a streamlined silhouette with wabi-sabi textures. Originally configured to open from the top, the cabinet's paneled front has been modified into nine drawers, each enclosed by a beaded trim and affixed with a simple iron pull. The dresser's black lacquer finish has worn beautifully with time, faded along the edges and across each drawer front to reveal the light brown color of the pinewood underneath.
