This elegant altar table dates to the mid-19th century and is seamlessly constructed of Chinese northern elm (yumu) using mortise-and-tenon joinery techniques. Used in a Qing-dynasty home as an altar or a surface for fine objects, the table features a solid plank top supported by four straight legs. The simple silhouette is accented by humpback stretchers that arch gracefully beneath the flat table top. Perfect in a hallway or placed behind a sofa, this console table fits effortlessly into traditional and modern interiors alike.
