This low drum references lacquered Qing dynasty drums created by artisans over two centuries ago. Drum-form objects were traditionally used in courtyard homes, gardens and outdoor pavilions where scholars read, wrote, discussed antiques and art and, in general, developed their inner sensibilities. In Buddhist history, drums served as bridges for heavenly communication and were integral parts of spiritual life. This drum boasts a beautiful faux shagreen exterior hand-lacquered in red. Wonderful as a side table or stool.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
