Drawing on the traditional ginger jar form, this round jar from the 1920s exhibits the clean lines and gilded refinement that helped to define the Art Deco style of Shanghai and Tianjin in the early 20th century. The jar's rounded sides are cloaked in a brilliant persimmon-orange glaze, marked by traces of the original gilt decoration. The faded gold linework likely depicted a pair of cranes resting beneath pine trees, a traditional motif conveying longevity and endurance.

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
