Tightly woven of natural reeds, this neat basket likely contained offerings of food, money, and fruit presented as part of ritual ancestor worship on a family altar. The basket is brushed with dark red and black lacquer, wonderfully aged and gently faded from years of use. Today it elevates fruit in the kitchen or provides a storied home for sundry objects.

Not only can they balance new furnishings (and often new construction) by feeling more established, but the pieces emanate a sense of rich history, often leaving you wondering where they were in a previous life. These beautiful pieces carefully hand-selected by the team at PAGODA RED, coupled with their unbelievable customer service, make them a must-have for any home.”
