Simple lines, a modest form, and layers of hand-brushed red lacquer give this petite Qing-dynasty tray a timeless, provincial charm. The square tray has developed great character from years of use serving tea or food to friends and family gathered on traditional kang daybeds. The lacquered finish has developed a charming aged texture, with slight crazing and a smoothly worn patina. Iron fittings reinforce the corners, adding to the tray's storied character. We've installed a rose-toned mirror to the base to transform the tray into an elevated serving platter, wall mirror or catch-all dish.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
