A flourish of curves adds graceful counterpoint to this table’s square profile, each straight leg topped by decorative scroll corners that flow into a scalloped apron. The legs are further decorated by straight stretchers inset with cutout panels. Crafted of lacquered elm in the mid-19th century, the table is modeled after summer-winter tables that could be converted into low kang tables for outdoor use. Found at the center of social activity, square tables such as this were used on a daily basis for dining, serving tea, or playing games.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
