This highly polished stone basin is a rich blend of texture and color. It was carved by hand from a single chunk of pudding stone native to the Jiangsu region of China. Chinese scholars have appreciated pudding stone for centuries - its natural beauty has always been a source of inspiration for painting, poetry, and meditation and was a popular stone to use on the top of calligraphy tables. Due to the variation of the natural stone, each basin varies slightly in color & pattern.
