Mossy Path Meditation Stone Table

This meditation stone coffee table exemplifies Organic Modern style with an emphasis on natural materials. A polished stone slab comprises the tabletop, awash with lush green color and beautifully patterned with inclusions of serpentine, jadeite and moss agate. Pockets of dark green-black color fall across the stone’s surface like cast shadows, reminiscent of dappled light streaming through a canopy of trees onto a mossy forest floor.

For use as a coffee table, the greenery stone slab is paired with three spherical legs of solid silver maple, carved with smooth contours and contrasting proportions. The reclaimed wood legs are sculpted by a local Chicago artisan who power carves with handheld tools to create unique spherical forms that showcase the raw beauty of the wood grain. The irregular shapes elevate the table with modern asymmetry, with two of oblong form and the other of a stacked, hourglass design.

This sculptural table consists of four separate pieces. The stone slab is not affixed to the wooden legs and its heavy weight keeps it stable. The slab weighs approximately 400 lbs.
