The sculptural form of this early 20th century side table is elevated by a brilliant cinnabar-red lacquer finish. The waisted table features a floating panel top, straight legs, and a curvilinear apron traced by a finely beaded edge. The legs end in cloud-form feet that borrow the cusped shape of traditional long-handled broadswords, giving the illusion that the table is delicately balanced on tip-toe. Originally used as an incense stand, display table, or gathering spot for serving wine, this colorful table layers beautifully into contemporary and traditional interiors alike.

Table has been recently refinished.
