Dated to the early 20th century, this square ceramic tile is decorated in low relief with two magpies perched on branches of plum blossoms, emblems of winter and longevity. When presented as a pair, magpies offer blessings of good fortune and martial happiness. Set on a custom steel wall mount, we love this storied architectural element as a richly textured sculpture.

This item is unavailable to ship until December 31, 2021. Currently on display at The Farnsworth House, a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
